Don't ask me how I'm feeling.

It's safe to say that I'm peeing my pants a little.

Out of excitement or out of nervousness? I'll let you decide. (The answer is both.)

I'm really excited to start my service in the Costa Rica San José Mission. A mission was sort of out of the question for me at the beginning of this year and here it is, June, and I'm leaving in 2 days for the MTC.

This is something that I feel very strongly about and I'm super excited and grateful for the opportunity to go serve the people of Costa Rica. I think that God loves them just as much as he loves any of us. So I can't wait to go and feel more strongly his love for them.

God be with you till we meet again.

You know what'll help that?

Do you ever get so busy and stressed that you don't really have time to feel things? You know? Like...emotions? I sometimes do. And even though I'm so ridiculously busy right now, things have kinda caught up with me and I'm just feeling a lot of things.

I've missed my sister the whole time she's been on her mission but during times like these, when I feel like I need a lot of sister advice, I feel really sad.

I texted my mom about it and she reminded me of the wise words of my dad.

Me: Dad, I think I'm getting a cold.
Dad: You know what'll help that?  A good night's rest.

Me: Dad, I think I broke my toe.
Dad: You know what'll help that? A good night's rest.

Me: Dad, I don't have any friends.
Dad: You know what'll help that? A good night's rest.

Me: Dad, my arm is super swollen.
Dad: You know what'll help that? Probably some ice. And a good night's rest.

And that's the answer to everything. So, why shouldn't it be the answer to this? So..here I go. To bed.

Goodnight.
(Thanks for the advice, Mom and Dad.)

That one time I went to Hogwarts.

Well folks, I figure it's about time for another life update wherein I dump a whole bunch of pictures all over your faces. (I don't like the way that sounds..but I said it. What's done is done.)

Remember this post about my undying obsession love for OneRepublic? Well, it is as true today as when it was written. And guess what! ALL OF MY DREAMS FINALLY CAME TRUE AND I SAW ONEREPUBLIC LIVE IN JUNE.

Unfortunately I didn't have a device with me that had the ability to take pictures. Unless you count my phone..which wouldn't work. And I'll tell you why. I have not yet updated to a smart phone and I also don't own a camera. So that would be one awful picture. However, I was with my brother and sister-in-law and they took a few pictures! So here ya go:

A few weeks ago, my parents, sister, and I went to Utah for a little vacation. We started off at Lagoon.

This is the only ride my dad would go on. Probably because it's the best. Or because it's the only one that doesn't make him sick. Old people, amiright?

The next day we went to Mary Poppins in the Hale Theater. It was really great fun but we didn't get any pictures. The night after that, we went to a Utah Symphony concert. It was amazing! It was only Disney music and there were four vocalists that sang all of the songs and it was some serious fun.

The last day we went to Olympic park and watched the skiers practice on the jumps that go into the pool. It was super neat! Then, we went on the Heber Creeper. IT WAS WIZARD THEMED SO IT WAS LIKE WE WERE ON THE HOGWARTS EXPRESS.

Well, that's about it! Good thing I'm a super diligent blog updater!

Goodbye!

MERTHER'S DER

You know how today was Mother's Day? Remember that? How fun, right?!

Well, the best thing about Mother's Day, besides celebrating how awesome moms are, is being able to talk to your missionary siblings through Skype! (Shoutout, Skype.)

So, today, we got to chat with these two kool kids via the interwebs.

Kaycee, being the spiritual beast that she is, decided to share two Mother's Day scriptures with us. So, here they are:

"And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him to day, and we will eat my son to morrow.
So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son."
-Kings 6:28-29

"It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman."
-Proverbs 21:19

Soooo...yeah. Happy Mother's Day!

Forty Thousand Million Things

You know when life throws a thousand things at you all at once? Yeah, me too.

I know you guys don't really wanna read about what's been going on in my life, cause that's kinda boring. But, guess what I'm going to do!! I'm going to write about what's been going on in my life anyways!

So, I haven't written on this little old blog of mine since before this current semester. Now that it's coming to the close of this semester, I might as well tell you a little bit about what's been going on!

As you should probably know, I'm going to school for Cosmetology. I MAKE PEOPLE LOOK PRETTY!!!! This semester has been super awesome! This was the first semester that I was out on the floor, working on real life clients! It was the scariest! It IS the scariest! I get the worst anxiety! What if I mess up a haircut and the client gets angry at me? What if I do an awesome job on the haircut and the client is still angry with me? Then my feelings are hurt! Anyways, those are just a few of my concerns. But, I still love it. So much!

This semester, I also auditioned for institute choir. I loved it so much! We practiced every Wednesday and it was so nice to be in a choir again! I met a lot of great people in choir and had a lot of great experiences.

Anyways, remember when I said that sometimes life throws ten million things at you at once? Okay, I said one thousand. But, I actually meant like maybe ten. Well, last Friday, we went to good ole' Salt Lake City for institute choir. We got to perform in the Assembly Hall on Temple Square on Friday night! It was so exciting! We met in the morning, practiced, left, practiced on the way, arrived in Salt Lake, practiced, ate, and then performed. It was super great except for the fact that I WAS SO SICK THE ENTIRE TIME SO I WAS NO FUN! I'm typically a pretty fun person. But not when I'm sick! So...that kinda sucks. Anyways, my amazing brother and sister-in-law came to hear me sing! I was so pleased. They even took me to get food afterwards with my cousin, Jason, and friend, Chris! What wonderful people!

After that was finished, I was like, "Yay!! I don't have to stress about anything else for a while now!" Nope. We had another choir thing the Sunday right after. Not that that was stressful, but the day was stressful. I went straight from church to ward choir practice(not even my own ward), to stake choir practice, to institute choir practice, to the performance. But, it was so great! My mother, father, sister, and grandmothers came to listen!! What gems! We sounded so good. I'm sad that choir is over.

ANYWHO, once that was over, I thought, again, that I could relax for a little bit. But, then I remembered that we had a fashion show for school! A few dress shops from here had a fashion show to showcase their dresses and one of the shops asked our school to do the hair for their models! So, I did finger waves on my cute model, Makena!

I was super happy with how they turned out. All of the girls that did hair for models did such a great job! They all looked so amazing!
These are only a few of the models. Also, this picture doesn't even do the models, the hair, or the dresses justice. Everything was absolutely stunning.
Here are all of the models. But, once again, the picture just doesn't do it justice.

Once that was over, I had a few whole days to kind of do nothing. Key word, Kind of. I still had things going on. THEN I WENT HOME FOR EASTER AND GOT TO SEE MY FAMILY AGAIN!

When I got back to school, I got to jump right back into the madness. We had a hair competition last night. A bunch of surrounding schools came and we had a competition and hair show. There were a few different categories like mens' haircutting, womens' cut and color, ladies formal, fantasy, and avant garde. I entered the ladies formal and did finger waves again. They didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. This hair was a bit harder to work with, which was a bummer. But, it still turned out beautiful, I thought. Anyways, they announced the winners and then one of the judges came up to me afterwards and said that they all had me as their number one and that they were all confused when they announced a different name. So, in my brain, I won. Fair? I think so.

Now maybe I can relax again! Except, I have to move soon..by myself. If anybody feels like coming to help me move here in the next few weeks, feel free!! If not, that's cool, too.

I love you all!
