Feliz Cumpleaños a Mi Padre del Número Uno

I'm supposed to be writing my senior paper..so I'll make this as brief as I possibly can.

Guys, today is April 18. Do you know what that means?

Probably not...

That means that it is MY FATHER'S BIRTHDAY!!!

Guys, my dad is the bee's knees. He's the cat's pajamas.

If you even need proof, look at this picture. We were taking family pictures a couple years ago before my oldest brother went on his mission.

So great, right?

My brother posted this picture on Facebook and then my dad shared it. Check out his caption for the picture.

I mean, how can you NOT love a man that 1) takes a picture like this and 2) writes that beautiful caption.

Also, he let's me photo bomb him sometimes.. (Whenever I photo bomb, I look like an angry Chinese man.)

Don't we look somewhat like a band? I'm just saying.

My dad just rocks family pictures. Seriously.

Let me tell you guys something about my dad and I. We like to listen to music together. I've been on a few trips with him and when we go on trips, we just listen to music the whole time and sing along. We take turns playing each other music the whole drive. We make it a competition and there's a winner for each round.

Guys, I can't tell you how fun it is. It's probably my favorite thing to do.

All in all, I've learned a lot from my dad. He's a wise human being. He's also a hilarious human being. Even when the rest of my family tells him that his jokes are silly, I laugh at them..(and I want him to remember that while he's writing his will...did I just say that?)

Anyways, I just want you all to be jealous of me since I have the best dad and everything..

That's all I can say right now.

So, join in as I sing a soulful a capella version of Happy Birthday to my father. Ready?

HAPPY BIIIIRTHDAY TO YOOOOUUUUUU
HAAAAPPY BIIIRTHDAY TO YOOOOUUU
HAPPY BIIIIIIIIIIIRTHDAAAAY DEAAARRRR DAAAAADDDDDD
HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPY BIIIIIIIIIIIIIRTHDAY TOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!!

Thanks for joining guys! Except..whoever sang flat on that last note..I will find you. But, I do appreciate the harmonies that you guys all threw in! Awesome!

So...SHOUT OUT to my dad!

Happy birthday and I LOVE YOU!

Something That You NEED to Know About Me

There's something about me that you don't know...but, that you need to know.

I'm not exactly sure how to say this...

Alright..here it goes:

My name is Becca Turner and I'm addicted to OneRepublic.
"Hi Becca."

Guys, I'm not even sorry about it. Seriously. I'm not even gonna apologize. (It's too late to 'pologize..if you know what I mean. (P.S. That's a funny joke because OneRepublic sings the song Apologize. Just thought I'd explain.)) Sorry, not sorry.

It all started in October of 2009, when they released their video for All the Right Moves.

I already loved the song and the other songs that I had heard by them. But, when I saw that music video, I was completely drawn to it, and the band itself. Honestly, I can't even describe my love for them.

My love for them was extremely..strong. I basically listened to OneRepublic every single day for two and a half years. Actually, literally six out of every seven days, I listened to OneRepublic.

Honestly, I don't know if you quite understand. Once, I had to write a paper about a band. It had to be two pages or so. I wrote an entire essay about OneRepublic without using a single reference. Actually, I checked my facts but the point is that I didn't NEED a single reference.

After about two and a half years, my obsession STRONG LOVE for them died down a tiny bit. I no longer had to know exactly what they were doing every single day. I still listened to them quite a bit but I wasn't making sure to fill my every waking moment with their music.

I still appreciate their music beyond belief. Their lyrics SPEAK TO ME! Honestly, there are a lot of relatable lyrics written by none other than the great Ryan Tedder (lead singer of OneRepublic and writer for basically every big star right now).

Okay, what I've been TRYING to get at is that I'm getting super into OneRepublic again. This could either be super problematic or super awesome!

Let's just say that they came out with a new album. Because, wait! They did!!

I own this album and I need to tell you something...this is the only album that I've listened to ever since I even bought it. Honestly, if I had to make a rough estimate of how many times I've listened to this album..I would guess about 16,735,250 times. That's not even an exaggeration. I don't exaggerate. Ever. I've actually never exaggerated in my entire life. Ever.

Anyways, I will now share with you my two FAVORITEST songs from their new album, Native. They won't disappoint, guys. I promise.

COUNTING STARS:

PREACHER:

Just a note..don't pay attention to this video..only the song. Unless you're into lyric videos..in which case, go ahead and watch. I, personally, find most of them annoying..especially when they have incorrect lyrics...like this one. There are quite a few incorrect lyrics in this video, but I still respect whoever made it. They probably didn't know. I don't judge. I love everybody. It's whatever. Anyways, ENJOY THE SONG. I KNOW YOU WILL. ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE A FAN OF GOSPEL CHOIRS. EVEN IF YOU'RE NOT!

Alright, last but not least, if you're into behind the scenes, in-studio videos, this is one that you ought to watch. It's for the last song, Preacher. Gospel Choir?! HECK YES. Not even kidding. You'll thank me for this some day.

I know I just posted a bucket load of videos. I know you're thinking, "What does she think we do all day? Watch videos?" The answer to that is...yes. That is what I think you do. And I think you're good people because of it.

Anyways, YOU'RE WELCOME!

Have beautiful lives filled with Gospel Choirs and OneRepublic.

The Little Peruvian Boy...My Brother

I have the coolest brother. I know, some of you are thinking, "Whatever. I have the coolest brother."
First of all, it's cute that you think that. Ha. Haha. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Anyways, no. I have the coolest brother. Well, two of the coolest brothers. But, right now, I'm gonna focus on my brother Nate. Why? Because he just left on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

I mean, how precious are we?

Nate left last Wednesday and I've already missed him like crazy. He's going to Lima, Peru. He'll be such a good missionary. I just know it.

Also, he's a riot! He's honestly one of the most creative human beings that I even know. He's brilliant.

My older sister, Kaycee, is two years older than me and Nate is one year older than me. So, we're all extremely close in age which means we get along very well. We grew up with the same group of friends..which means that we were all friends growing up.

Guys, we're like the weird triplets of the family. Except, only kinda.

I just felt like you guys needed to know that I miss my brother but I'm also extremely proud of him.

Peace.

Guess I Couldn't Have It All

I was born with natural charm and good looks and good humor and a winning smile and a wonderful personality and humility.....

Let's talk about one thing that I don't have.

Ladies and gentlemen, I don't have confidence/eloquence when going through drive-thrus.

I was going through a drive-thru with some friends today and I was already having a bit of anxiety about going through. Then, I saw my cousin's cute wife and daughter coming out of the building. They were gonna come talk to me and I got pretty excited. It got awkward when I just waved at them and then automatically started yelling my order. I stopped mid-order and just started laughing hysterically. I couldn't even finish ordering. Guys, I'm not even kidding, I already had large amounts of angst before this situation. In the end, I just felt awkward and embarrassed and....actually, it wasn't that big of a deal, I guess. Just pretty dang funny!

But, the point is that we can't have it all. I mean, I have most of "it" but I don't have the eloquence/confidence that other people have while going through drive-thrus. I think that's the moral of the story. I'm actually not sure.

I guess what I'm saying now is...you're welcome for this beautiful story that didn't make much sense.

Also, you're welcome for just wasting your time.

Here's the thing: I miss writing on my blog, so I keep starting posts. Right now, I have about 156,937 drafts of blog posts. I just can't find the words to say. So, here's a post for you.

Enjoy.
